Drummin Skool

About Us

“DRUMMIN’SKOOL” is operated by Steve Jannetta, from Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Steve has played the drums for more than 30 years. Originally self taught, he played in various school bands and local amateur dramatic productions from age 15, and quickly realised the need for professional tuition to improve his playing technique. He has since studied with some of the UK’s leading tutors, including Dave Hassle, (session drummer, Royal Northern College of Music lecturer), Ronnie Bottomley, (Leeds College of Music), and the late Geoff Myers (Syd Lawrence Orchestra).

Steve recently studied jazz studies at Leeds College of Music and keeps up to date with current drum tutor publications, DVD’s and CD’s.

Steve has taught students from the age of 6 to 60 for more than 15 years. He teaches in an informal and friendly style, using a variety of published and recorded material. Lessons are designed to be fun and give students the content they require, to enable them to play the music they enjoy.

At very busy times we will use relief teachers who are also experienced and qualified, and will teach to our exacting standards. All teachers are CRB checked.

Steve has a wide range of playing experience across a variety of styles. From 1997 to 2000 he played on 2 P&O cruise ships, the Oriana and the Aurora. He has also played in function bands, tribute bands, pub and club bands, held residencies at various cabaret venues, and played big band gigs and jazz events. This has required Steve to develop a number of musical styles covering rock, pop, country, rock and roll, soul, jazz, big band, ballroom dancing and show band music.

Steve is presently performing regularly with the Reg Hargreaves quartet, Jed’s Blues Band, Nicki Allen, Laurie Briggs, Kevin Dearden & Julie Edwards, Kate Peters, Karl Mullen, and many other acclaimed musicians.

We will be pleased to provide any type of band for your own party or function, and Steve is often available to deputise if you ever need a drummer for your band.
